⛪️ Lansdale church wreck under investigation

James Short | North Penn Now
A two-car accident sent three people to the hospital and destroyed the steps outside a house of worship in Lansdale.
An SUV and a pick-up truck collided on West Main Street a little after 1 p.m. on Sunday; the SUV then careened into the main steps of St. John’s United Church of Christ, leveling the stone stairs. The church building itself was not damaged.
Two people were taken to Lansdale Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and have been released; a third person went to Grand View Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, but their status is unknown. A dog in one of the cars was unharmed. Lansdale Police are probing the incident.
🔥 Massive fire levels Franconia barn, home

James Short | North Penn Now
An 18th-century barn and a house were destroyed when a blaze broke out at Yoder Farm Market in Franconia. No animals or people were injured in the incident.
Jake Yoder, the son of property owners David and Maryjane Yoder, said he was the home's only occupant and lost everything he owned. The fire also destroyed 10 acres of field corn inside the barn. Yoder said it was an electrical fire; a faulty outlet or a space heater were among the potential culprits. Multiple agencies were involved and beat down the fire in about three hours; the incident is still under a procedural investigation.

🗣️ Towamencin officials talk Freddy Hill Farm
The shocking news of Freddy Hill Farms’ closure has sunk in. Towamencin officials are now thinking about what comes next.
The Board of Supervisors expressed interest in preserving parts of the property and potentially maintaining some of the family-friendly entertainment infrastructure. But Supervisor Kofi Osei conceded the town likely does not have the financial capability to buy the property and the Seipt family — which has owned and operated Freddy Hill for 53 years — has every right to do with it as it sees fit.
The family has declined comment beyond a statement announcing the closure. Towamencin officials said all long-term planning in the past has anticipated the property — which is not protected farmland — would eventually be developed. But nothing is clear at this time.
🚨 Mayhem in Perkasie
A Perkasie man faces aggravated assault charges after allegedly threatening two people with an unloaded gun and chasing one of them with a butcher knife.
Police responded to an assault call on South Second Street and found Layth Fayed Taye Tawalbeh, 33, yelling at another man. He allegedly told cops he pointed an unloaded pistol at the victim and chased him with a butcher knife as the result of a fight. A second victim said they were also threatened with the handgun.
Police recovered the knife and pistol at the scene. Tawalbeh was being held in Bucks County Jail as of last weekend despite having bail reduced from $100,000 to $50,000.

🐶 Rescue Dog of the Week

James Short | North Penn Now
Meet Kane, a nine-year-old mastiff being fostered through Home At Last Dog Rescue.
Kane was found as a stray in Philadelphia. He is 120 pounds and has a very casual and loving demeanor. He is crate- and house-trained and loves to lounge around. Kane is good with other dogs if he received a slow introduction. He would do well in a moderately active home and someone who has experience with larger dogs and children 12 or older.
If you are interested in adopting Kane or would like more information, you can reach out to Home At Last Dog Rescue at [email protected] or visit the group's website.
