🚨 A wild story in Montgomery Twp.

James Short | North Penn Now

Talk about a party foul.

A Hatboro woman — and U.S. Marineallegedly fired a gun in Montgomery Township after being told her she was too drunk to drive home after a children’s birthday celebration.

Kaylee Sarah Douglas, also known as Kaylee Muntz, was charged with aggravated assault and misdemeanor charges of endangering the welfare of children, terroristic threats, possession of a weapon and recklessly endangering another person. The 25-year-old is accused of firing a Glock twice around 11:50 p.m. last Saturday.

Witnesses said she arrived at a McKean Court residence after the kid's party ended and became intoxicated to the point she urinated and vomited on herself. She then tried to leave with her three-year-old child and was told she could either call an Uber or sleep over. Douglas then allegedly tried to leave a second time and was stopped before pointing her gun at several people before firing it.

No one was injured in the incident and Douglas complied with police once they arrived on the scene. Her preliminary hearing was scheduled for today.

👨‍🚒 Lansdale mourns an icon

Jay Daveler, who spent 43 years as the chief of Fairmount Fire Company, has died.

Daveler also served as Lansdale’s fire marshal and was a first responder and local business owner. And those were just a few of the hats he wore around town. Daveler received the inaugural Lansdale Lifetime Achievement Award and spent over 50 years with Fairmount Fire Company in total. Service details are pending.

“Jay was, for many years, our fire chief, fire marshal, and emergency manager. He fulfilled all of these roles with love, passion, and kindness,” Lansdale Mayor Garry Herbert said.

“He always stepped up when our community called upon him, especially if and when we needed his steadfast leadership and forthright guidance. Lansdale is a better place to live, work, and play thanks to Jay’s contribution and he will be greatly missed by all.”

🚙 An update on Hatfield’s mysterious car chase

A police-involved car chase damaged property at Twin Woods Golf Course in Hatfield last month, but no one knew which law enforcement agency was involved or what precipitated the incident. We now have some details.

Hatfield Police said they have confirmed State Police were involved in the incident and that agency is investigating. But cops do not have a suspect and are working with a partial license plate for the other vehicle. Community members with any information are encouraged to come forward if they have not already. The reason the chase started is unknown.

Heroes Next Door recently visited the Montgomery Township Police Station to feature the agency and receive a full access tour of headquarters.

🐶 Rescue Dog of the Week

James Short | North Penn Now

Meet Jonathan, a four-year-old mini-poodle being fostered through Home At Last Dog Rescue.

Jonathan was rescued from a puppy mill in Lancaster. He is a sweet boy who arrived with long, thick and matted fur, but he is more comfortable now that it is removed. Jonathan does great with people and is crate- and house-trained. He loves to cuddle and would do best with someone who works from home or will not be outside the house for extended periods each day.

If you are interested in adopting Jonathan or would like more information, you can reach out to Home At Last Dog Rescue at [email protected] or visit the group's website.
