🚔 Lansdale man charged with third DUI this year

A Lansdale man was charged with felony drunk driving in the West Ward earlier this month, his third DUI arrest this year. Kevin Todd Morgan, 60, of Delaware Avenue was found slumped over in the driver’s seat after an emergency call alleged he was swerving in and out of traffic. He was also charged with DUI in Upper Gwynedd on back-to-back days in January.

Also in Lansdale: Cops quickly located a lost child on Friday and reunited the kid with his family.

Freddy Hill Farms and Freddy's Family Fun Center will close at the end of the 2025 season, ending a 53-year-run.

The Seipt family, which owns the Towamencin staple, announced their decision last week following “heartfelt consideration.”

“We are looking forward to retirement after decades of running rewarding and challenging businesses” they said in a statement. "It is a bittersweet reality that all good things must come to an end.”

All other requests for comment and information have been declined. Both businesses sit on a 94-acre plot; the property has been used as a farm for over a century, but is not protected farmland. The possibility of future development has been considered in past township planning.

👨‍⚖️ Towamencin board deadlocked on vacancy

James Short | North Penn Now

There is more drama surrounding the Towamencin Board of Supervisors.

Former supervisor Laura Smith resigned last month after posting a video on social media where she mimicked Elon Musk’s alleged Nazi salute at the presidential inauguration. Board rules allow the remaining members of the five-person panel to appoint a replacement, but the board failed to agree on two nominees during a special meeting last week. The matter is now likely headed for Montgomery County court.

💵 New retail chain coming to Montgomery Twp.

Dollar Tree has acquired the former Party City location in the Montgomery Square Shopping Center. The discount retailer is reportedly aiming to open as many as 600 new stores nationwide this year.

Also: Merck has proposed a wetlands relocation to Upper Gwynedd officials. The pharmaceutical company hopes to use an exchange program to open the door to future construction at its complex in town, whether that be a new building or added parking space.

🚨 Telford man accused of violent attack

A Telford man allegedly beat a 16-year-old girl in the face and bashed her head onto the sidewalk.

Cameron Ricardo Brown, 18, faces aggravated assault and misdemeanor charges of attempted assault and recklessly endangering another person. The incident occurred Feb. 28; the victim told police “everything went black” when she hit the ground after being punched several times by Brown. She also accused him of putting his hands around her neck and threatening to kill her; she suffered bruises and lacerations.

Brown was taken into custody after arriving at the police station and attempting to report an assault; he told cops he had a fight with the victim.

🐶 Rescue of the Week

James Short | North Penn Now

Meet Henderson, a two-year-old hound mix currently being fostered through Home At Last Dog Rescue after being rescued in South Carolina. Henderson is great with kids, gets along well with other dogs and is very routine-oriented. He can take some time to warm up to new people. He is crate- and house-trained, but could use some work on the leash. He would fit best with an active family or home that enjoys the outdoors.

If you are interested in adopting Henderson or would like more information, you can reach out to Home At Last Dog Rescue at [email protected] or visit the group's website.
