Councilwoman Rachael Bollens won the borough’s Democratic primary for mayor in a landslide on Tuesday, moving one step closer to becoming the first woman to hold the office in the town’s 153-year history.

Bollens won almost double the votes of challenger Bill Henning, according to unofficial Montgomery County tallies. She will face Republican nominee Greg Gilrain in November. Current Democratic Mayor Garry Herbert is seeking a council seat this fall.

🐶 Rescue Dog of the Week

James Short | North Penn Now

Meet Noodle, a four-year-old lax mix currently being fostered by Home At Last Dog Rescue.

Noodle was rescued as a stray in Georgia before making her way up north. She is a very calm and obedient companion. While Noodle may take a little time to warm up to new people and can be a bit shy, her overall demeanor is silly and joyful. She loves having the backs of her ears scratched and cuddling with you on the couch. Noodle is currently crate- and house-trained. She would do best in a quieter household with older children and a yard.

If you are interested in adopting Noodle or would like more information, you can reach out to Home At Last Dog Rescue at [email protected] or visit the group's website.
