👷♂️ Montco begins work on homeless shelter

Rachel Ravina | MediaNews Group
Montgomery County officials “broke ground” on a new short-term housing shelter in Lansdale.
The facility is expected to open this fall. It will have 20 beds to provide shelter and support to those experiencing homelessness in the county. Montco struck a lease agreement for the roughly 4,800-square-foot on East Main Street earlier this year. Homeless rates have been on the rise in recent years while Montco has lacked a central shelter facility.
The facility will have single and double occupancy rooms, bathrooms, showers and laundry and a community space. Case management services will focus on behavioral and mental health, employment training and access to benefits. food and veterans services.

⚠️ Montgomeryville crash sparks HAZMAT response

James Short | North Penn Now
A two-vehicle crash last week led to a HAZMAT response and shut down Route 309 in Montgomeryville.
A Cooper Electric Supply Co. box truck collided with an SUV at the intersection of Bethlehem Pike and Knapp Road in Montgomery Township. The collision caused about 90 gallons of diesel fuel to leak, necessitating the hazardous materials response. The driver of the SUV was rescued by emergency responders.
🚨 Sellersville woman accused of dealing meth
Bucks County detectives and Quakertown Police charged a Sellersville woman with dealing methamphetamine in the borough.
Elizabeth Marie Fox, 39, faces felony possession with intent to deliver meth and felony conspiracy charges, plus a slew of drug-related misdemeanors. A drug sting at an apartment complex on Temple Avenue led to the arrest. A confidential informant later told cops that Fox and another occupant of her unit worked to deal meth. Fox also had an outstanding, unspecified warrant at the time of her arrest.

🐶 Rescue Dog of the Week

James Short | North Penn Now
Meet Toe, a 14-week-old Labrador mix currently being fostered through Home At Last Dog Rescue. Toe was rescued in South Carolina with siblings Tic and Tac and is an energetic and sweet boy. He loves to cuddle, explore, play with his toys and run around.
Toe is currently being crate- and house-trained and does well with other dogs. He enjoys meeting new people and would love another dog to play with. A good home would ideally have a backyard to run around in.
If you are interested in adopting Toe or would like more information, you can reach out to Home At Last Dog Rescue at [email protected] or visit the group's website..
