🚔 Accident probe ends with 79-year-old charged

Courtesy of Franconia Township Police
A Franconia man allegedly assaulted a police officer and obstructed justice when he interfered in an accident investigation.
Cops were dispatched to a call at Morwood and Godshall Roads on March 26. They found a car off the roadway and Souderton Police were standing with Stanley E. Supranowicz, 79, and an accident victim lying in the road. The victim had serious injuries and was bleeding profusely from the head and neck.
An officer identified himself and asked Supranowicz to back up so the victim could be evaluated. Supranowicz allegedly refused multiple requests and impeded treatment of the victim. He is accused of saying that “I don’t have f—king time for you” and that “the police do nothing about the stop sign.”
An officer tried to pull Supranowicz from the scene; he then shoved another officer. Supranowicz was then taken to the ground and continued to resist police before being handcuffed. He was also charged with disorderly conduct.

The vehicle reportedly crashed into a telephone pole in the area of Kenilworth Avenue and West Seventh Street a little after 5 p.m., breaking the pole and downing wires. The car then flipped over in the road. Initial reports indicated the driver was trapped, but they were able to get out of the car without assistance. There were no other passengers.

💥 WATCH: Footage of Lansdale church steps crash
The recent car accident in Lansdale that led to the destruction of the stone front steps of St. John’s United Church of Christ was captured on video. An uninvolved Tesla owner recorded the incident on his Teslacam and submitted it to a YouTube channel that compiles such footage. The video can be seen above, starting at the 3:34 mark.
The church’s Board of Trustees said it is hopeful repairs and restoration will be covered by the insurance provider for the owner of the SUV that careened into the steps. But there are concerns about significant financial strain if the church is forced to pay a sizable insurance deductible of its own. An engineer has assessed the rest of the building and confirmed it is stable.
👮♂️ Missing Towamencin teen is safe
Towamencin Police said a 15-year-old township girl was located after going missing for 24 hours over the weekend. Cops said Gianna Graser was located safe around 6 p.m. on Saturday. She had gone missing from the SEPTA parking garage in Lansdale between 6-7 p.m. the previous evening; a K9 then tracked her scent to the Wawa on Valley Forge Road. No further details were released.

🐶 Rescue Dog of the Week

James Short | North Penn Now
Meet Thomas, a senior Shih Tzu/Maltese mix who has landed with Home At Last Dog Rescue after SEPTA workers rescued him along the Chestnut Hill West Line.
Thomas was barely able to walk on his hind legs when he was found and had thick matted hair. Veterinarians later determined he had multiple wounds and several fractured vertebrae, likely caused by a direct impact to his spine.
Thomas has made great progress in recent weeks, but still has a long way to go with at least six more weeks of crate rest followed by six weeks of physical therapy as he works toward a forever home.
If you are interested contributing to Thomas’ recovery or would like more information, you can reach out to Home At Last Dog Rescue at [email protected] or visit the group's website.
