๐ The Latest on Lansdale's Traffic Woes
We have progress. Lansdale officials presented the initial findings from their much-anticipated traffic study at a recent public meeting.
Some key takeaways: Plans are being developed to install speed bumps on side "cut-through" streets that drivers use to avoid congested main roads. The borough will also likely institute rush-hour turn restrictions at key points. Intersection realignments and curb extensions are also possible, but officials said those projects would come with considerable costs compared to other measures.
Officials are now finalizing the study with additional public feedback included. But the main gist is that if drivers can be slowed down and discouraged from hopping on side streets, issues like the recent wave of wrecks at Cannon and Columbia Avenues can be mitigated. Stay tuned.

๐ฅ Massive Warehouse Fire Under Investigation
The cause of the five-alarm blaze that broke out at Dorman Products in Hatfield on Election Day remains unknown. Over 30 emergency and fire departments responded to fight the fire at the auto parts warehouse for over 10 hours last week, with at least one firefighter hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The Hatfield Township Fire Marshals Office is probing the incident.
Burn bans remain in effect across the area due to historic drought conditions, but fires keep popping up. Three brush fires broke out near Peace Valley Park in New Britain on Saturday.
